This is a really useful book. Some books promise to offer you a full understanding and only provide a glimpse. Steve provides a comprehensive look into strengths from many angles. It is consistent throughout in the approach and supports the text with tools that people can adopt with their particular sphere of practice. The no-nonsense approach to recovery is refreshing as it offers a realistic view of what has been a buzz-word which some people may have misconstrued in the past. This book will be of use for student nurses, qualified staff and I would recommend that mental health teams look at this and think of how they can adopt some of the principles into everyday practice. I will be personally be recommending this book to student nurses on my module. The only negative I could find is that, personally, I would have liked a subject index at the end. However, this does not spoil a really useful text.
