People with learning disabilities can experience the full range of mental health problems; but many are not able to express their feelings easily in words, so identifying the prevalence of depression and anxiety among people with learning disabilities can be a challenge for Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services.

Like you, we believe in the importance of breaking down barriers marginalised people face to accessing talking therapies, which is why we publish training packs that provide flexible approaches to delivering effective psychological therapies, specifically for people with learning disabilities. We also understand the distinction of a fully-trained, well-informed workforce, which is where our wide range of handbooks and guides that support practitioners in understanding the complex mental health needs of people with learning disabilities come in.
