Hft is a national charity for people with learning disabilities and creative thinking is our speciality.

People with learning disabilities approach us because of our clever ideas, experience and relevant advice. Our inventive and often ground breaking support enable people with learning disabilities to live the lives they want.

Our wide ranging services are available through the local Hft support teams around the country. The teams work in partnership with people with learning disabilities, their families and local authorities to discover the choices on offer that will bring personal goals and ambitions closer to reality - no matter how big or small.

Hft provides support on anything a person with learning disabilities and their families might experience such as developing relationships, finding a job, improving their social life, or advice about money eg individual budgets, paying household bills etc.

Our expertise is recognised by the health and social care sectors. We work closely with them on healthcare, housing, work and educational issues and comment on draft legislation regarding adult learning disabilities.

Visit the LDT Technology Zone to see how we champion new ways of using assistive technology and Information Communication Technology (ICT) to enhance the everyday lives of those we support and their families.

Through our unique listing on AIM at the London Stock Exchange we have become the most regulated specialist provider of learning disability services in the UK. We have the scrutiny of city regulators, in addition to the Commission for Social Care Inspection and local authorities. We welcome the additional regulation together with the extra level of corporate governance that must be satisfied to obtain stock market floatation. We feel confident that this regulation and our own philosophy of care and support enable us to offer the highest quality services in the UK.

CareTech provides high-quality specialist support and residential care to people with physical disability, challenging behaviours, mental health problems and autistic spectrum disorder using an ‘ordinary' model of care.

The services comprise 61 residential care homes (435 beds) and two day centres (55 places) located primarily in the south of England and the West Midlands. The properties are of outstanding quality, located in pleasant areas.
