The zones

Time and time again our visitors quote the zones as being what distinguishes Drugs and Alcohol Today exhibitions from our competitors.

This year’s zones include:

Drug Policy
The UK Drug Policy Commission has sponsored four seminars in the Drug Policy Zone which bring together views from academics, policy-makers and practitioners to enable an informed and informative debate about ‘what works’ based on the evidence.

Recognition
Sponsored by Trust The Process, the Recognition Zone is your chance to let us know how your organisation has been ambitious for service users last year. What projects did you work on that made a big difference to service users? What insights did you gain last year in terms of tackling addiction and alcoholism? Come and represent your organisation by telling us about your achievements and sharing your best practice in our welcoming diary room.

Alcohol
Sponsored by Alcohol Concern – programme to be announced.

Drug Awareness and Communications
Sponsored by DrugScope, this zone will focus on two areas throughout the day – Drug Awareness, and Communications.

States of the Nation: DrugScope Information Surgery
Harry Shapiro, DrugScope’s Director of Communications and Information, will give a presentation on the key features of illegal drug use in the UK covering all the major drugs, patterns and prevalence of use and trends.

Communications
DrugScope’s Press Officer Ruth Goldsmith and the Druglink Editor Max Daly will look at the key communications issues your organisation may have to deal with including: how to promote your story to local media, how to develop key messages, writing a press release and tips for dealing with media enquiries and interviews.

Arts & Creativity
An array of dazzling and inspired visual artwork and other crafts by service users, illustrating the way creative practice can help to encourage confidence, inspiration and motivation.
