The purpose of this training course is to provide clear guidelines about, and the means to produce, what is needed to meet the requirements of the five mandatory units required for the S/NVQ level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People.

O2: Promote people's equality, diversity and rights
C15: Contribute to the protection of children from abuse
CU5: Receive, transmit, store and retrieve information
SC8: Contribute to the development, provision and  review of care programmes
SC14: Establish, sustain and disengage from relationships with clients

The step-by-step course has been put together in such a way that each candidate has some time working with colleagues in group time, and some time working on their own private study. Looking after Children and Young People is split into three parts: Part 1 is a facilitator's guide giving all the help you need to run the group sessions; and Part 3 is a workbook for candidates to use for private study. Part 2 and 3 are photocopiable.

Professionals within the social care sector are required to undertake Continuous Professional Development (CPD) by the General Social Care Council (GSCC). Those who use this resource will be able to gain CPD points.
