This revised and updated second edition of Psychosis Revisited is a two-day workshop that encourages participants to take a fresh look at psychosis and examine practical ways in which they can work effectively with people who have psychotic experiences. The materials build on innovative work by The British Psychological Society (BPS). The training pack is designed to help trainers facilitate a two-day workshop, exploring psychotic experiences from a broad range of perspectives. Particular emphasis is given to the perspectives and understanding of the individual in distress. The training also considers psychological, social and cultural understandings of psychotic experiences and enables participants to consider ways of offering help and support with associated difficulties.Professionals within the social care sector are required to undertake Continuous Professional Development (CPD) by the General Social Care Council (GSCC). Those who use this resource will be able to gain CPD points. Vital information for: mental health workers in community mental health teams, assertive outreach teams, early intervention teams, other specialist teams or those working with in-patient services, service users and carers.
