The three parts of the package provide an opportunity to develop and deepen insight into the issues surrounding abuse and trauma.
Male Sexual Abuse: The Manual
This manual aims to increase readers’ knowledge base and provide an opportunity to acquire relevant skills in the engagement, management and treatment of males who have suffered abuse or trauma. It provides a useful framework to develop further insight and understanding of the issues in relation to abuse and trauma. Its primary aim is the application as well as the acquisition of therapeutic skills. This manual seeks to empower professionals in the engagement, management and treatment of victims of sexual violence and trauma. It takes a holistic approach in terms of seeing the victim in the context of their environment.
The manual is divided into seven sessions and each session contains details of the accompanying experiential exercises.

Male Sexual Abuse: DVD
The DVD exposes its viewers to the issues and challenges faced by male victims of abuse and trauma. It is a 20-minute role-play entitled a victim’s story and can be shown to staff, prisoners and patients alike. Its primary aim is to raise awareness of staff, prisoners and patients and develop an element of sensitivity to the issues. Its primary outcome is to facilitate safe management of disclosures and enable staff to make appropriate and timely referrals.
Male Sexual Abuse: Interactive Book
The CD-rom is designed to build upon the DVD. It seeks to consolidate knowledge and deepen an awareness of male sexual abuse and trauma whilst providing a framework to explore some of the emerging issues in more depth.
