The new Level 2 Certificate in Supporting the Development Needs of Homeless and Vulnerable People is aimed at new workers in the homeless sector, including both paid and voluntary staff. Pavilion and the Foyer Federation have designed and produced a range of learning and teaching resources to assist employers, centres and candidates in the delievery and achievement of the award. The materials can be used to support staff in gaining the Level 2 Certificate, as a stand-alone package for inducting or training staff, based on best practice, and as a resource for colleges and other training providers in the field. They comprise these Trainer Materials, a Student's Workbook and a reader, Reshaping our Lives. These Trainer Materials contain full guidance, training plans, slides, handouts and resource documents. Slides and handouts can be displayed through a data projector and/or printed out for display and distribution. The materials support the delivery of the following half-day sessions: Introductory Learning Awareness Course Unit 1 - Principles of Human Development and Learning Unit 2 - Introduction to Providing Structured Supported Learning Unit 3 - Effective Communication Unit 4 - The Working Environment Unit 5 - Developing as a Support Worker The training manual also contains: Links to induction and foundation standards Accreditation of prior learning The assessment requirements of the Level 2 Certificate and guidance on meeting these requirements Web and document references for futher information The accompanying Student's Workbook contains independent learning activities that complement the training sessions.
