Tenant participation in supported housing

In Partnership with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation

Tenant participation is nowhere near as well developed within supported housing as it is in general 'social' housing. Whose Home is This? is based on a research project supported by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, which was linked to a Tenant Participation Initiative set up by Notting Hill Housing Trust, a large London-based provider of both mainstream and supported housing.

Based on the key assumption that tenants should have a say in any matters which affect them, directly or indirectly, this report explores examples of good practice, discusses lost opportunities, and describes practical ways in which complaints procedures and other structural mechanisms can be made accessible and inclusive for all tenants, however varied their needs.

Professionals within the social care sector are required to undertake Continuous Professional Development (CPD) by the General Social Care Council (GSCC). Those who use this resource will be able to gain CPD points.
