About the authors
Dr Sharon McManus and Dr Brian McGuire are clinical psychologists with considerable experience in conducting pain-related research and in delivering pain management interventions to people with an intellectual disability. Dr McManus works as a clinician in a service for people with an intellectual disability in Galway, Ireland, and Dr McGuire is based at the School of Psychology and Centre for Pain Research at National University of Ireland, Galway.
