Key features:Complete resource for staff induction; meets new Common Induction Standards; video material set in adult and older people services; learner portfolio to evidence learning.

About the resource:
The refreshed Skills for Care Common Induction Standards were introduced in 2010. These standards provide a structured start for all new care workers in the first 12 weeks of employment, enabling them to demonstrate that they are safe to practice in their role and work environment. The standards also cover much of the underpinning knowledge contained in the mandatory units of the Health and Social Care Diplomas which have replaced NVQs on the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF).

Our toolkit provides the resources you need to effectively implement the new Common Induction Standards. It contains video material filmed in adult and older people service settings and a learner portfolio covering all eight standards. It can be used to train all your staff. All you need to buy additionally is a learner portfolio for each staff member, which they can retain as valuable evidence.

Contents include:

·    Standard 1 Role of the health and social care worker
·    Standard 2 Personal development
·    Standard 3 Communicate effectively
·    Standard 4 Equality and inclusion
·    Standard 5 Principles for implementing duty of care
·    Standard 6 Principles of safeguarding in health and social care
·    Standard 7 Person-centred support
·    Standard 8 Health and safety in an adult social care setting.

The Toolkit contains:
Training manual on CD-rom with full guidance, printable certificates and monitoring forms, standards and glossary, model answers and GSCC Codes of Practice plus ringbinder for storage; DVD covering each of the 8 standards; printable certificate of completion; one copy of the learner portfolio; plastic box for storage.

The learner portfolio contains:

Underpinning knowledge; assessment questions; certificate of completion for each standard; ringbinder; CD-rom containing the eight CIS standards, glossary and GSCC Codes of Practice.

Vital information for:
Workforce development managers, service managers, directors, proprietors, supervisors and trainers in residential, day care and domiciliary services for adults and older people, for use with newly appointed social care workers, support workers, nursing assistants, personal assistants, home care workers and others.
